Think about just eating when hungry we would just need a single item from a tree. Instead we have to consume more just from transportation and marketing alone.

What about research and development? And studying, some need a drug to do that too.

So perhaps we just loving playing music or painting. Then I guess we consume time or paint to produce a masterpiece.
